SUSTAINABLE FINANCE INSTITUTE (SFI) ORGANIZES THE COMPETITION
“GEN Z & ESG: PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 2026 (ZESG 2026)”
Gen Z & ESG: Promoting Sustainable Development 2026 (ZESG 2026) is a competition for university students across Ho Chi Minh City who are interested in ESG and sustainable development. The competition is organized by the Sustainable Finance Institute (SFI), under the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). It is expected to take place from March to May 2026, combining both online and in-person competition formats.
Sustainable development is currently considered a key priority at both national and global levels. ESG standards (Environmental – Social – Governance) therefore play an increasingly important role in shaping the strategic direction of businesses and organizations. In addition to formal academic programs, organizing ESG-related competitions for students is an effective way to disseminate knowledge and enhance ESG practical capabilities among younger generations. From this perspective, ZESG 2026 is expected to deliver meaningful value for the organizing institution, participating students, and sponsoring organizations.
For the Sustainable Finance Institute - the organizer, the competition helps reinforce the institute’s role in connecting the community and promoting ESG practices and sustainable finance through a platform with measurable outcomes. At the same time, the program aims to expand collaboration networks with organizations, businesses, and experts, thereby creating a foundation for long-term training, research, and knowledge transfer activities.
For students, ZESG 2026 provides an academic platform where participants can approach ESG issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, thereby strengthening their awareness, systems thinking, and critical thinking abilities. Through the competition process, students also develop essential skills such as analysis, idea presentation, and problem-solving. Moreover, participants will have opportunities to expand their professional networks and enhance their competitiveness in the labor market.
For corporate partners and sponsors, the competition offers the opportunity to bring real-world ESG challenges or case studies into the program and receive in-depth analyses, ideas, and proposed solutions from students. In addition, the program allows organizations to connect with a pool of young talents interested in sustainable development through the CV book and networking activities with outstanding teams. Participating in mentoring and experience-sharing sessions within the competition also helps promote ESG practices while strengthening the company’s professional visibility and reputation in a meaningful way.
